So, I said I was going to talk about glaze testing first, but I’ll get to that later.
We were invited by The Floating Island gift shop (http://www.floatingislandonline.com/) to be their featured artist for July’s art walk (http://freshsqueezedart.blogspot.com/2009/07/art-walk-preview.html). We were incredibly pleased to be able to participate and decided to use the opportunity to showcase our “new” style. We like to think of it as a sort of Art Deco – Mid-Century Modern inspired style. We also went to a lot of trouble to develop a range of new glazes that would complement this style. Rob and I are both very proud of it and it seemed to elicit a great response from the folks walking around last night.
So, here are some pictures of our new stuff. Feel free to leave comments for us. We LOVE feedback!!! I am in the process of posting some of this stuff on our ETSY store (http://www.PrometheanPottery.ETSY.com), so feel free to check up on that periodically as well.

Congratulations on the art walk. These new items are beautiful! I love the combination of glazes. As you probably would have guessed, the small lidded jar in spruce juice and floating turquoise is my favorite. And it’s nice to see you, too, even upside down and very colorful…
Thanks so much, Moni! We are very proud/pleased with the new stuff. I didn’t do as many pieces as I should have in that combo of glazes. I’ll rectify this mistake in the next kiln load. I am quite happy that little jar didn’t sell, because I want to keep it for myself! 😀 Taking the pictures outside is better than inside I think, but I don’t know how to eliminate myself from the shine. Any suggestions?
I think the pictures are amazing, and you shouldn’t change a thing. Having your reflection in the pieces just shows off their extraordinary shine. I view it as a bonus.
